We drove to Katadhin Woods and Waters before leaving Acadia for the last time. It was an afternoon trip which would have been better had the rental car company actually got us the car on time. Missed out on a whole day and a half.
The views were magnificent, but since it is such a new park, the roads are undeveloped. The park office was hard to find and since Baxter State Park is where the actual peak is located, we were not able to really hike up the AT 😦 Baxter is not RV friendly and pets are NOT allowed, not even in cars. We had to rent the car so we didn’t want to risk driving the entire ‘loop’.
